About the LDS Hymns for Organ Collection

The LDS Hymns for Organ collection is a transcription of LDS Hymns from the Enlgish Hymns of The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the new Hymns for Home and Church for the organ. These organ versions:

• Isolate the melody on the right hand to simplify playing it with solo registration
• Retain the full hymnbook harmony in the alto/tenor line (left hand) and pedals
• Separate the pedal line for full organ sound

Hymns are provided in both PDF and MuseScore 4 format. MuseScore is an open-source, no-cost sheet notation software for Windows, Mac and Linux, allowing you to mark and modify the sheet music as desired.

The why

I am not a great organist. I can separate the bass line to the pedals, but I can't play the melody on its own without this conversion. Many volunteer Church organists that started on the piano with little to no formal organ experienice (like me) have the same problem. By isolating the melody, you can get a richer sound and meaningfully improve the worship experience. Listen to this example to hear the possibilities.

Status
